When Blane and Maribeth planned their engagement session, we envisioned capturing their love story at the summit of Whitefish Mountain Resort. However, upon arriving, we found the mountaintop was socked in with rain and clouds. So, we decided to head to the Lodge at Whitefish Lake, and it turned out to be the perfect decision.

When the rain at the summit of Whitefish Mountain Resort changed our original plan, the Lodge at Whitefish Lake provided the perfect backup. The soft, overcast light had cleared enough to create a moody, romantic vibe at the Lodge. Blane and Maribeth embraced the moment, and their connection was undeniable.

One of my favorite aspects of this session was how Blane and Maribeth leaned into the clearing weather at the Lodge. The cloud cover created a dreamy atmosphere, adding a soft, diffused light to their photos that made every shot look almost magical. It’s proof that amazing photography is possible in any weather—and I pride myself on creating incredible images no matter the conditions.
